Ring Worm Information - Symptoms and Treatment


Ring worm is a common mild fungal infection of the skin, it is a rash that is caused by a fungus. It is a skin and scalp disease caused by several different kinds of fungi. Ringworm on the scalp usually makes a bald patch of scaly skin. People with ringworm on other parts of their skin can have a ring-shaped rash that is reddish and may be itchy. The rash can be dry and scaly or wet and crusty.

Ringworm is a contagious fungus infection that can affect the scalp, the body, the feet (athlete's foot), or the nails. The fungi that cause ringworm generally enter the body through a break in the skin. If you have a scratch or cut, or if you have broken skin because of a condition such as eczema, this may get infected.people get infected by either direct skin-to-skin contact with an infected person or pet,or indirect contact with an object or surface that an infected person or pet has touched.
